The Idaho Governor’s Office of Energy and Mineral Resources (OEMR) recently launched the Facility Investment Expense Reduction (FIXR) Program, which aims to improve energy efficiency in public buildings across the state. Through FIXR, eligible public entities, such as cities, counties, and school districts, can apply for grants of up to $100,000 for projects that will improve energy efficiency and yield long-term benefits for local communities. Eligible projects include weatherization upgrades and building energy asset improvements, including the purchase and installation of energy efficient appliances, lighting, and HVAC upgrades.

FIXR is supported by $350,000 from the U.S. State Energy Program. Applicant project proposals will be evaluated on a rolling basis until program funds are fully allocated.
