The Minnesota Department of Commerce has awarded $15 million to 25 Minnesota-based projects through the latest round of the State Competitiveness Fund (SCF) Matching Funds Program. The grants will facilitate resiliency, energy efficiency, geothermal, solar, renewable fuels, and storage investments by member-owned utilities, nonprofits, tribal communities, and agricultural business owners.
The Minnesota legislature established the SCF Matching Funds Program in 2023 to position Minnesotan applicants to pursue federal energy funding. The SCF funds enable electric cooperatives, businesses, nonprofits, Tribal governments, and other organizations across the state to meet cost-share requirements for federal awards, reducing financial barriers and supporting clean energy investments in Minnesota.
