Hawai’i Public Radio Interviews Chief Energy Officer Mark Glick

Hawai’i Chief Energy Officer Mark Glick sat down with Hawai’i Public Radio to share insights about the key issues and opportunities that he will navigate as the head of the Hawai’i State Energy Office. The interview emphasizes the need for meaningful community engagement, energy resource diversity, grid flexibility and reliability, and solutions to supply chain challenges as Hawai’i continues to advance ambitious clean energy and climate change goals.

Glick returns to the Hawai’i State Energy Office after several years in a tenure track faculty position at the Hawai’i Natural Energy Institute of the University of Hawai’i at Manoa, during which time he served as co-chair of the NASEO Energy Technology Innovation Advisory Group. In his role before that as Administrator of the Hawai’i State Energy Office, he served as Vice Chair of NASEO’s Board. His team and accomplishments as Administrator helped further solidify Hawaii as a national leader in renewable energy, energy efficiency, and clean energy technology development and deployment.
