On October 25, 2022, the Hawaii State Energy Office published findings from the Energize Kakou program. Energize Kakou is part of a broader effort by the State Energy Office to foster relations with their community, including developing the confidence of individuals to engage in energy planning. Events were both educational, with information on siting procedures and how to engage in them, and interactive. Attendees were asked how renewable energy developers should engage with communities that would host renewable energy projects. The project also produced a playbook on centering community voices in future Hawaii State Energy work and a cultural history of energy in Hawaii. Additional information is available here.
