SEP Reauthorization Introduced at U.S. House Subcommittee Hearing

The U.S. House Energy and Commerce Committee, Subcommittee on Energy held a hearing on April 10, 2019, to consider a number of bills, including the U.S. State Energy Program (SEP) reauthorization and Weatherization Assistance Program reauthorization (H.R. 2041).  The new NASEO-supported SEP reauthorization bill (H.R. 2114) is the same as the bill that passed the U.S.  House during the last Congress which both NASEO and NARUC strongly supported.  Chairman Rush (IL-D) and Ranking Member Upton (MI-R) co-sponsored the new SEP bill,  and Mr. Upton restated his strong support for the bill in his opening remarks.  NASEO will provide more information on the bill and related Senate action as it becomes available.  The full hearing video is available here.
