On March 11, 2019, the Trump Administration released details of its budget request to Congress zeroing out the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) State Energy Program (SEP) and Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) among other critical energy activities. In contrast to the Administration’s position the U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate provided $55 million for SEP and $257 million for WAP in FY’19.
