Residential PACE, Consumer Protections, and the Truth-in-Lending Act

NASEO held a conference call to discuss recent developments affecting consumer protections in residential Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) programs. NASEO provided an overview of the “Protecting Americans from Credit Entanglements” (PACE) Act of 2017, which has been introduced in Congress, as well as an introduction to the state of California’s consumer protection measures. 

Additionally, call participants were asked to share input on a brief document that NASEO has drafted on the topic of R-PACE consumer protections.
