Wednesday July 28, 2010 - 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm
Please join us on Wednesday, July 28, 2010, from 3:00 – 4:00 pm ET, for a NASEO Webinar for state energy office and state code agency officials on building energy code training, compliance and assistance, and strategies for participating in the upcoming International Codes Council (ICC) final action hearings coming up this fall.
This October, state and local government energy and building code officials from across the nation will gather in Charlotte, North Carolina, to cast one of America’s most significant energy, environmental and climate policy votes of 2010. Only ICC-member government officials can vote on the proposals for the new 2012 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC). In addition to being linked to federal laws and the states’ receipt of the ARRA stimulus funding, more than 40 states use the IECC to set baseline energy efficiency standards for residential construction.
This no-cost webinar will provide state officials with important information on the ICC process, actions states need to be taking now to be able to participate in the process, proposals such as “The 30% Solution 2012” that would boost the 2012 IECC by more than 30 percent over its earlier IECC counterpart, and financial resources and information links to help states participate in the Charlotte hearings. In addition, this no-cost Webinar will deliver practical information that will help states understand the ICC national model building energy code process and why sending state energy and code officials to vote may be the most effective energy and environmental policy investment your state can make this year.
