The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), Office of Electricity Delivery and Energy Reliability (OE), in coordination with the National Association of State Energy Officials (NASEO), the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC), the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL), and the National Governors Association (NGA) will conduct the State Energy Risk Assessment Workshop in Denver, Colorado.
This workshop will kick off an initiative to help participants and states gain awareness of risk considerations relating to energy systems and infrastructure and to become more aware of necessary capabilities and available tools, methods and processes for assessing risks to energy systems and assets. In addition, participants will have the opportunity to participate in interactive sessions designed to assist State officials with specific topics relevant to energy risk assessment and risk-informed decision making.
DOE encourages participation from state agencies including State Energy Offices, Public Utility Commissions, Emergency Management agencies, Homeland Security agencies, Environmental Protection agencies, Governor’s Offices, and state and local officials responsible for energy risk assessment and management and energy resilience and assurance. Industry and Federal agencies will also be invited to attend.
