Governor Mark Dayton has signed HF 729 into law, which expands the definition of waste heat recovery to include “waste heat recovered and used as thermal energy.” This makes it possible for industrial customers who utilize waste heat recovery to be eligible for utility conservation programs, and savings will be credited toward natural gas or electric utilities’ goals.
