Pomona College's vision is achieving carbon neutrality by 2030. By creating a socially engaged just environment that provides active learning experiences, small footprints, and powerful results. Established in 1887, Pomona College is one of the premier liberal arts colleges in the nation. There are approximately 1,600 students, almost evenly divided between men and women. Admitted students come from 47 states and 47 nationalities, with a student-faculty ratio of 8 to1. Fifty-six percent of the students receive financial aid. Our southern California location is within an hour of Los Angeles, the mountains, desert, and beaches which provides countless opportunities for field study, research and internships. Almost all students, 94% live on our 140-acre campus and through generous incentives faculty is motivated to live within 5 miles. As the founding member of The Claremont Colleges, a unique consortium of seven colleges and graduate schools, we offer both the advantages of a small liberal arts college and the resources of a university.
