U.S. State Energy Program:
How State Energy Officials are Energizing America

For over 40 years, State Energy Offices in all 56 states and territories have used formula U.S. State Energy Program (SEP) funds provided by Congress to address energy emergency planning and response, develop new energy resources with the private sector, and demonstrate innovative technologies while advancing energy affordability, reliability, and sustainability goals.  Recent SEP successes from the states include:

GA: Saved schools 437,023 kWh in 2022, trained 107 students in 2024 to implement additional savings
IN: Supported nuclear energy study to enhance energy reliability
NY: Supported Fuels Availability and Supply Tracking Survey and weekly report on fuel supply and prices to enhance resilience
