NASEO Transportation Committee Webinar: Automated Connected, Electric and Shared Mobility

October 30, 2017, 3:00 - 4:00 PM ET
Webinar/Virtual Meeting

The NASEO Transportation Committee hosted a webinar on Monday, October 30 at 3pm eastern time to explore new initiatives and opportunities that support automated, connected, and shared mobility. On our webinar, Mark Smith and Sarah Olexsak from the U.S. Department of Energy shared insights from U.S. DOE's Energy Efficient Mobility Systems initiative, which aims to identify and support technologies and innovations that encourage a maximum-mobility, minimum-energy future in which transportation systems may be automated, connected, electric and shared. Dan Miller with Oak Ridge National Laboratory also shared information and lessons learned from TennSMART, a multimodal smart mobility park for research, development, and deployment of connected and automated vehicle technologies. Participants had an opportunity to learn about the two initiatives, and discussed how new smart mobility concepts may impact energy use within the transportation system.
