Risky Business Project Releases New Report on Climate and Manufacturing in the Southeast and Texas

A new report “Come Heat and High Water: Climate Risk in the Southeastern U.S. and Texas” [executive summary] was released by the Risky Business Project, led by a bipartisan committee of former public officials and business leaders.  The report focuses on manufacturing which has undergone a resurgence in the dozen state region extending from Texas to Kentucky and Virginia. The report posits that the welcome growth in the region’s manufacturing economy could be placed in particular risk from changing climate. It suggests consideration of business practices that support resilience, risk assessment in capital investment decision making, and policies for adaptation to and mitigation of risks.
