$750 Million in State Loan Funds
for Businesses, Consumers
To spur jobs and long-term
energy-saving investments, more than 30
states and territories operate about 50 loan
funds for energy efficiency and renewable
energy.
Many of these revolving funds are
capitalized through the U.S. State Energy
Program. More than $1 billion in loans have
been made.

on Monday, August 16 in recognition of the
federal government's promise to invest in
critical infrastructure projects through the
American Recovery and Reinvestment Act
(ARRA), including the U.S. State Energy
Program.

Water to Wire Hydro
Project to Generate Clean Energy
The Washington
Department of Commerce has
awarded $898,175 to a Kennewick,
Washington company that is in
the process of turning a 60
year-old canal into an energy
generator. The grant, one
of 36 grants funded through the
Energy Efficiency and Renewable
Energy Grant and Loan Program
offered by the Commerce
Department's State Energy
Office, will allow Green Energy
Today to complete the project
and start generating electricity
by the end of the year.

the economic impacts of Recovery Act funding
