Resources from NASEO Virtual Workshop Enhancing Community Energy Resilience through FEMAs BRIC Program (August 24-26, 2021)
NASEO hosted a virtual workshop to educate stakeholders on how FEMA's BRIC program can be leveraged to enhance energy resilience. Over the course of three days, speakers discussed innovative pathways to mitigate hazards that threaten energy system reliability, energy services, and mission critical facilities. Further, the workshop highlighted how energy-related BRIC projects can support human health and safety, justice and equity, and state climate goals. The workshop, in partnership with the National Emergency Management Association (NEMA) and the Business Council for Sustainable Energy (BCSE), brought together State Energy Officials, state emergency managers, local officials, energy industry representatives, and federal partners to explore how working together to plan, allocate, leverage, and manage BRIC funding can deliver greater community resilience.
